A Day in the Life of a Temecula Plumber

A Day in the Life of Your Local Temecula Plumber

5:45 AM – Coffee , Tik Tok, and Preparations
No alarm for me. I just wake up early, make the coffee for the house, and scroll through some Tik Tok videos. I actually really enjoy plumbing videos. They’re a good way to keep up on what’s new and improved. Once the coffees ready I bring my wife a cup. She’s up already up, scrolling through her phone. “Any big jobs today?” she asks. “Oh, you know, the usual,” I say, which usually means anything from a small leak to a full-on pipe disaster. I head out and get my van ready. Yesterday I was pretty exhausted after getting done around 9:00 last night, so my van is a bit of a mess. I need to drop off a broken water heater at the supply store and make sure I have everything I need for my jobs today.

8:00 AM – First Call: A Running Toilet
My first stop is a house just outside Old Town Temecula. Nice older couple, super friendly. They’ve got a toilet that won’t stop running, and it’s been driving them nuts. I check the flapper valve inside the tank, and sure enough, it’s worn out. A quick swap with a new one and the problem’s fixed. They offer me coffee, but I’ve already had two cups, so I politely decline. One job down.

10:00 AM – Second Call: A Kitchen Leak
I head over to a house in the Redhawk area. The kitchen sink’s leaking, and the homeowner is in full panic mode when I get there. Water’s pooling under the sink, and she’s afraid it’ll damage the cabinets. I crawl underneath, flashlight in hand, and spot the issue pretty quick—it’s a loose pipe connection. Fortunately, all I have to do is tighten it up, test it a couple of times, and we’re all good. I give her some advice on how to spot these things earlier next time, and she thanks me like I just saved her house. Hey, I’m happy to help.

11:30 AM – Water Heater Troubles in Murrieta
Next up is a call about a water heater that’s acting up. It’s in a house over in Murrieta, just a short drive from Temecula. I show up and the homeowner says the water hasn’t been heating consistently. After taking a look, I figure out the pilot light’s been going out randomly. It’s a very old unit so I definitely suggest they get it replaced. They agree and decide to upgrade to a tankless water heater. I go to the supply house, get all the requirements, and get it installed up to code. They’re happy with the job so I’m off to the next.

3;00 PM – The Clogged Shower Drain
Back in Temecula, I head to a job where a family’s shower drain is completely clogged. You’d be surprised how much hair and soap scum can build up over time. I snake the drain, pull out a tangled mess that looks like it could come alive, and the starts working again. The homeowner’s relieved, and I’m glad to have avoided anything worse. Clogged drains are one of the most common issues I deal with, but every time, it’s a little different.

4:30 PM – Emergency Call: Burst Pipe
Just when I think the day’s winding down, I get an emergency call. A pipe burst in their front yard. I race over, and there’s water spraying everywhere like a broken fire hydrant. The homeowner’s standing there, looking helpless. I shut off the main water line and assess the damage. It’s a PVC pipe that cracked under pressure—nothing I can’t handle. After about an hour of digging, cutting, and connecting new pipes, we’re good to go. The homeowner thanks me about 20 times, and I head out, covered in mud but feeling accomplished.

6:00 PM – Back Home
I pull into the driveway, tired but satisfied. It was a busy day, but that’s how it goes. My wife greets me and asks how it went. “Busy,” I say, kicking off my muddy boots before I walk inside. “But nothing I couldn’t handle.” Another day as a Temecula plumber, solving problems one pipe at a time.
